Victorian Terrace Full Interior Repaint

The Challenge

The family of five remained in residence throughout the works, requiring a carefully phased approach that ensured at least one bathroom and sufficient bedrooms were always available. The staircase, rising through three floors with original turned balusters and a curved handrail, presented significant preparation and access challenges.

Our Approach

We agreed a room-by-room phasing plan with the family, completing each space within two to three days. The staircase was tackled last, with a specialist scaffold system erected within the stairwell to provide safe access to the highest points. Every baluster was individually sanded and finished, and the mahogany handrail was stripped and re-stained before receiving three coats of satin varnish. Walls throughout were given a mist coat on bare plaster areas, followed by two full coats of premium matt emulsion.

The Result

The house has been comprehensively refreshed from top to bottom, with a light, modern palette that makes every room feel brighter and more spacious. The restored staircase has become a genuine focal point, with the refinished handrail gleaming against crisp white balusters.
