Edwardian Family Home Full Redecoration

The Challenge

With a large family including young children and a dog, the work needed to be phased room by room so the family could remain in residence throughout. This required meticulous planning and daily coordination with the household. The external timber, including over twenty sash windows, had suffered significant paint failure and needed extensive preparation.

Our Approach

We developed a detailed phasing plan with the family, starting with bedrooms and working through the house so that each room could be vacated, completed, and returned to use within a few days. Furniture was moved and protected within rooms where possible to avoid disrupting the household's storage. Externally, all timber was scraped, sanded, and spot-primed before receiving a full coat system. We worked around school drop-off and collection times to minimise noise disruption. Selected rooms received wallpaper accents from the Morris & Co. archive to complement the Edwardian character.

The Result

Over the course of eight weeks, the entire house was transformed without the family ever needing to move out. The children were fascinated by the process and even helped choose colours for their bedrooms. The refreshed exterior has restored the house's handsome street presence.
