Stucco Terrace Exterior Restoration

The Challenge

The stucco facade had developed extensive cracking, with some areas showing signs of hollow render that needed careful investigation. All colour choices required conservation area approval, and the scaffolding had to be designed to maintain access to the neighbouring property's entrance throughout the works.

Our Approach

We began with a full condition survey, tapping the entire facade to identify areas of debonded render. Hollow sections were cut out and patched with a matching lime-based render, while hairline cracks were filled with a flexible masonry filler. The facade was treated with a stabilising solution before receiving two coats of breathable masonry paint in the approved colour. All twenty sash windows were stripped, repaired, and repainted. The front door was taken to bare timber and built up with primer, undercoat, and two coats of high-gloss paint.

The Result

The restored facade presents a pristine, unified appearance that enhances the entire terrace. The conservation officer praised the quality of the render repairs and the sympathetic colour choice during the completion inspection.
